Construction Skills Academy – Course Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to learners enrolling on the following qualifications:

City & Guilds 6035-02 Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies
City & Guilds 6189-57 NVQ Level 2 Plumbing & Heating

By enrolling on one of our courses, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted the following Terms & Conditions.

Course Fees

All course prices displayed on our website include 20% VAT.
Payment plans may be available by prior agreement.
Course fees must be paid in accordance with your agreed payment schedule.
Failure to keep up with agreed payments may result in suspension from training, assessments or certification until any outstanding balance has been paid.
Any outstanding course fees must be paid in full before certification can be claimed.

Attendance & Punctuality

Learners are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of each session.

Good attendance and punctuality are essential to successfully complete your qualification. Persistent lateness or poor attendance may affect your progress and may result in removal from the course where attendance falls below an acceptable standard.

What You Must Bring

All learners must bring:

Safety boots (mandatory for all practical sessions).
Suitable work clothing.
A pen, pencil and notepad.
Any learning materials requested by your tutor.

Learners who fail to wear the required PPE may not be permitted to take part in practical activities.

Health & Safety

The safety of our learners and staff is our highest priority.

All learners must comply with Construction Skills Academy’s Health & Safety procedures.

Tutor instructions must be followed at all times. The safe use of tools, equipment and workshop facilities is mandatory.

Unsafe behaviour, horseplay or misuse of equipment may result in removal from the workshop or course.

Behaviour & Respect

We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and professional learning environment.

Learners are expected to:

Treat staff, fellow learners and visitors with courtesy and respect.
Respect academy property, tools and equipment.
Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
Refrain from bullying, discrimination, harassment, intimidation or abusive behaviour.
Not attend training under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones should be switched to silent during teaching sessions and should only be used during breaks unless authorised by your tutor.

Assessments

Learners are responsible for completing all required practical assessments, assignments and portfolio work.

Qualifications will only be awarded once all City & Guilds assessment requirements have been successfully achieved.

Learners must complete all work within the agreed timescales. Learners who fail to attend a scheduled assessment without prior notice may be required to arrange an alternative assessment, where applicable.

Certificates

City & Guilds certificates will be issued once all qualification requirements have been achieved and the awarding organisation has processed the certification.

Any outstanding course fees must be paid before certificates can be issued.

Photography

From time to time, photographs may be taken for promotional purposes. Permission will always be obtained before any identifiable images are used.

Course Transfers, Cancellations & Deposits

If you are unable to attend your course, please notify Construction Skills Academy as soon as possible.

Where possible, learners may transfer to an alternative course date, subject to availability.

If insufficient notice is given, or no reasonable explanation is provided for non-attendance or cancellation, Construction Skills Academy reserves the right to retain some or all of the course deposit to cover administrative costs and the reserved training place.

Requests to transfer to another course date will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Supporting evidence may be requested in exceptional circumstances, such as illness or bereavement.

Construction Skills Academy aims to be fair and understanding while ensuring cancelled places do not disadvantage other learners.

Personal Property

Construction Skills Academy accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings, tools, clothing or vehicles while on academy premises. Learners are responsible for keeping their personal belongings secure at all times.

Right to Refuse or Remove

Construction Skills Academy reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any learner whose behaviour, conduct or actions compromise the safety, wellbeing or learning experience of others.

No refund will be issued where a learner is removed due to misconduct or a serious breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Course Changes

Whilst every effort is made to deliver courses as advertised, Construction Skills Academy reserves the right to amend course dates, tutors, venues or delivery methods where reasonably necessary. Learners will be informed of any significant changes as soon as reasonably practicable.

By enrolling on a course with Construction Skills Academy, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
